The Khangri Experience Foundation Fundraising Climb
On August 16th, 2024, the remote Himalayan village of Thame, Nepal, was devastated by a catastrophic glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF). Homes, a local school, the community health clinic, and critical infrastructure were destroyed, leaving families displaced and the village in urgent need of support.
In response to this tragedy, the Khangri Experience Foundation is organizing a Fundraising Climb—a mission-driven adventure aimed at raising both awareness and vital funds to support the long-term rebuilding and recovery of Thame. This initiative will help restore essential services, rebuild homes, and invest in sustainable development projects that will strengthen the village’s resilience against future disasters.
By joining or supporting this climb, you are not only taking on a physical challenge but also becoming a part of a global effort to uplift a community deeply rooted in Sherpa heritage and the spirit of the Himalayas.
Together, we can help Thame rise again—stronger and more prepared for the future.
