ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP GOREPANI

We offer an incredible trek to the Annapurna Base Camp via Poon Hill, where you can immerse yourself in breathtaking experiences. Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the majestic Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges from the vantage point of Poon Hill. Traverse through lush green forests adorned with Rhododendron, Oak, and Pine trees, as well as rocky terrains and glacial rivers. Along the way, you'll encounter scattered villages, each with its own unique culture and traditions.

As an ABC trekker, you'll have the opportunity to spend an overnight stay at both the Base Camp of Annapurna and Macchapucchre Base Camp (MBC). These locations provide awe-inspiring views of snow-capped mountains and magnificent waterfalls that cascade down the walls, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere. The shrine in this region is renowned and holds great significance, which is why animals are not permitted entry.

Prepare to be mesmerized as massive mountains suddenly emerge before you, including Hiunchuli, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Annapurna South peaks. The ideal time to embark on this trek is during spring when the Rhododendron forests are in full bloom, showcasing vibrant pink flowers that contrast beautifully with the rocky landscape.

At the Annapurna Base Camp, you will be treated to breathtaking close-up views of the imposing south face of Annapurna One, the 10th highest mountain in the world, towering at 8,091 meters. Alongside, you'll also behold other colossal peaks like Tharpu Chuli (5,663m), Singu Chuli (6,501m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), and Annapurna South (7,219m). ITINERARY

  • After your arrival at the Kathmandu Airport. We will pick you up and get checked in at the Yak and Yeti Hotel located at the center of Kathmandu. In the evening we will have a gear check and orientation.

  • After breakfast we will visit various famous landmarks. These landmarks include: buddhist stupa Swayambhunath (monkey Temple), Boudhanath, and Hindu Temple and cremation center Pasupatui Nath. after lunch last minute shopping and welcome diner

  • Drive to Nayapul which takes approximately 2+ hours. From there, you will get into a 4WD vehicle and 45 minutes later you will arrive near Tikhedhungga, at 1,577m/ 5,173 feet. Lunch will be served here and then you will start walking uphill on stairs for 2 hours or 2:30 minutes before reaching Ulleri 2,020m/ 6,627 feet. The total hike should take 2-3 hours. 4.3 miles

  • Today, you will hike 850m/ 2,427 feet up hill and downhill 50m/ 164 feet. Most of the day will be going uphill on steps stairs through beautiful rhododendron forest to Ghorepani. . There are no exposed parts on the trail and there are very few animals. However, there are some donkeys bringing up supplies on the trail. From Ulleri to Ghorepani is a total of 10.3km/ 6.4 miles.

  • Today will be an early start with a long staircase up to Poon Hill at 4am. This will take approximately one hour or one hour-fifteen minutes, on the top of Poon Hill 10,531ft. You will enjoy amazing sunrise views over the stunning snow-capped Annapurna and Dhaulagire range mountains. After spending some time at Poon Hill, then we return back to Ghorepani to have breakfast.

    After breakfast, the trek will continue climbing uphill and then along the ridges through the forest of pines and rhododendron. The climb brings us to the Deurali Pass at 3,200m/ 10,498 feet and onto Deurali at 2,960m/ 9,711 feet, and we then descend to Tadapani The distances up and down Poon Hill is 2.9km/ 1.8 miles. The total distance for the day is 11/km/ 6.8 miles

    6 to 7 hours

  • The day starts with a steep descent through the rain forest and through some small villages. This takes a few hours as we drop down 700m/ 2,296 feet. we will reach a bridge at 1,900m/ 6,233 feet and continue steeply back uphill to the village of Gurjung as the trail eases about 3 hours walking uphill to Chhomrung,we stay overnight at a lodge.

    The hike today is approximately 5 hours 11km/ 6.9 miles.

  • Today we leave the beautiful village of Chhomrung head towards Dovan 2,500m/ 8,202 feet. The trek today will take approximately 5½ hours. The trail drops steep stairs to the Chhomrung Khola River. We cross a suspension bridge then climb steeply back uphill on stairs to Sinewa 2,340m/ 7,677 feet, The trail climbs again up to Khuldighar. We continue on mixed gradual trails and steep steps up and down to Bamboo 2,300m/ 7,546 feet. We leave the forest and then continue steeply downhill to the village of Dovan. 7miles

  • Today is a longer day as we want to maximize our time higher up, so getting to Machhapuchchhre Base Camp is important. To start the day, we will trek from Dovan to Deurali for lunch. Duerali sits at 3,230m/ 10,597 feet. We start by climbing through bamboo forest and rhododendron on to Hinku Cave. After lunch we have another 2 hours and 30 minutes most uphill all the way through the amazing Annapurna Valley as we move to Machhapuchchhre Base Camp.

    6 to 7 hours 8.1 miles

  • When you wake up in the majestic Machhapuchhre Base Camp, you will be glad you did the extra distance the day before. Today is exciting as we hike to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m/ 13,550 feet. From MBC below Machhapuchre, or Fishtail mountain, we head uphill on an easier trail, deep into the Annapurna Sanctuary. This trail is surrounded by massive mountains. Therefore, the trek into Annapurna Base Camp is stunning. You walk parallel to glacial water coming off Annapurna, with beautiful flowers and mountain around. 2 hours 1.8 miles

  • We wake up early for the sunrise view over the Annapurna mountain range. It is one of the best mountain viewing regions in the world. The views of Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Glacier Dome, Tent Peak, Annapurna II, Annapurna III and Machhapuchhre are out of this world. As the light changes across the Annapurna Range you get to see some breathtaking mountain and glacial viewing. We then pack up our bags, have breakfast, and then start the trek down Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo 2,300m/ 7,546 feet.

    6-7 hours 8.4 miles

  • The hike from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda takes approximately 4 hours. From Chhomrung, the trail descends very steeply to Jhinu. You can relax in Jhinu at the nicest lodge in the village. After lunch we will head down to the river’s edge to the Hot Springs. You will hike up 360m/ 1,181 feet and down 900m/ 2,953 feet today. 5 hours 7.4 miles

  • Today is your final day of trekking, where we will walk the two hours to Siwai, for the jeep pick up. There is some downhill to the river and then back up the other side to a narrow trail that takes us to the pick up point. This is one of the most relaxing and shortest walks of the entire trip. From Siwai we drive all the way back to Pokhara. This drive will take about two to two and a half hours. (2 hours 2.7 miles walking distance )

  • will be voting in Phewa lake, visiting Davis fall, and world peace temple in the afternoon fly back to Kathmandu.

    Balance:

    • 2023 Annapurna base camp Gorepani Trek: The remaining balance of the selected trip is due before Nov 6th 2023 for the first trip and Nov 26th 2023 for the second trip .

    • 2024 Annapurna base camp Gorepani Trek

    • Remaining balance that are not received with the 121 day deadline, risk forfeiture of their place and registration fee on the expedition.

    All payments are due 121 days before the departure

  • Everest Base Camp Refund Policy:

    • Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable.

    • Full refunds, less the registration fee ($500), will be provided for cancellations made before 121 days before the expedition date.

    • Our refund policy also protects other trekkers that have dedicated their time and capital to the trek.

    Trip Cancellation Insurance:

    • We highly advise our clients to take out trip cancellation insurance with your travel agent if you wish to be covered against cancellation due to personal or medical reasons.

    • This may be the only way to receive your non-refundable deposits.
